Death Masks

Death Masks by Jim Butcher

I can never get enough of Harry Dresden and his wizardly adventures. Everyone who loves Urban Fantasy should read at least one book from the Dresden Files series. Death Masks is book five of the series and Butcher did not let me down.

Harry Dresden is a powerful and only wizard for hire with an office in Chicago. He works as a private investigator finding lost things and as a consultant for the Chicago Police Department's Special Investigative unit that investigates cases that fall outside of the definition of normal.

He lives in the basement apartment of a small apartment building without electric or modern electronic equipment because his magic is always shorting things out. He lives with his cat and his assistant Bob who is a know it all disembodied spirit. Harry works on cases that range from our world and beyond. And he has a host of enemies and allies who fear and respect him because of his power and honor.

The shroud of Turin was stolen by a group of thieves and Harry Dresden was hired by a Priest to find it. Jim Butcher had me laughing throughout this novel and I have got to tell you that I couldn’t put it down. There are so many people good and evil trying to get their hands on this shroud I was surprised at who got it in the end. Oh yes, and Harry will find an unlikely ally when he lest expects it.

I recommend reading this one for fun anytime.

Read the Overview:
