Fair Game by Patricia Briggs

There is a good story somewhere in here and it is also a good addition to my library because Patricia Briggs is a very good writer and I liked the other books in this series.

This is book three of the Alpha and Omega Series. Anna Latham is an Omega who was abused by her last pack. The pack members were following the orders of her Alpha when they beat and abused Anna but Charles Cornick rescued and claimed her as his mate. Charles is the son of Bran the Marrok, the leader of the packs in North America, and also his enforcer. Now that the werewolves are public Charles has been tasked with enforcing the law on all of those werewolves whose respective Alphas chose not to punish. But when The FBI needed a consultant to help with a case Bran sent Anna as the consultant and Charles as her assistant in an attempt to give Charles something else to focus on instead of death.

I love Charles and Anna's story and I read the first two books in this series but I feel the need to mention that the editing of this book sucks! I expect more from a writer of this caliber and feel sad that her editor let her and her readers down. The story is good, the characters are good, pacing is good but it is a bit weighted down with descriptive and informational scenes and not enough story. I felt as if it was filler and fluff just to make word count requirements. Again, I liked the first and second books of this series but this one missed the mark for me. I give it 3 stars because I like Anna and Charles with their relationship issues. There is a good story somewhere in there but it is also a good addition to my library.
