Lilith (Twin Soul Novels)

Lilith (Twin Soul Novels) (Book One) by Victoria Limbert

I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down. You have got to read this one.

Warning! There is action, sex, lust, darkness, and a lot of pain going on in V.R. Limbert's debut novel...

When Lilith, one of the strongest demons in Hell tried to possess Annette she refused to allow Lilith to push her soul from her body and forced her to coexist in her human one. I know, a human with two souls living in her body... different right? I loved the dialogue between Lilith and Annette and found myself laughing out loud at times.

Oh, yes and did I tell you Annette is no joke and is a badass with an attitude?

Give this novel a chance and get ready to meet sexy demons, humans, and vampires with a perfect mix of sex, pain, hope, love and darkness in a page turner. Keep your eyes on Limbert she is new on the scene and is only going to get better with each new novel. Once she teams up with a good editor there will be no stopping her. I can't wait to read the next one.

Check out the overview...

After a traumatic event suffered at a young age, Annette Anderson believes she had been cursed with the 'Sight'. The ability to see the Hellworlds and demon souls drove her in to a world of sin and sex, attracting the unwanted attention of the Underground. After months of torture, the She-demon, Lilith, attempted to take Annette's body and drive out her human soul. Unexpectedly, Annette's soul fought back, trapping Lilith, leaving them to reside together on a shaky truce.

Along with the help of Michael Daltry, a detective with the Metropolitan Police and Rowan, a demon ordered to protect them, Annette and Lilith must work together to uncover the reasons behind a spate of grisly murders that has hit the the busy city of London.

If they fail, it will truly be Hell on Earth!

Death Masks

Death Masks by Jim Butcher

I can never get enough of Harry Dresden and his wizardly adventures. Everyone who loves Urban Fantasy should read at least one book from the Dresden Files series. Death Masks is book five of the series and Butcher did not let me down.

Harry Dresden is a powerful and only wizard for hire with an office in Chicago. He works as a private investigator finding lost things and as a consultant for the Chicago Police Department's Special Investigative unit that investigates cases that fall outside of the definition of normal.

He lives in the basement apartment of a small apartment building without electric or modern electronic equipment because his magic is always shorting things out. He lives with his cat and his assistant Bob who is a know it all disembodied spirit. Harry works on cases that range from our world and beyond. And he has a host of enemies and allies who fear and respect him because of his power and honor.

The shroud of Turin was stolen by a group of thieves and Harry Dresden was hired by a Priest to find it. Jim Butcher had me laughing throughout this novel and I have got to tell you that I couldn’t put it down. There are so many people good and evil trying to get their hands on this shroud I was surprised at who got it in the end. Oh yes, and Harry will find an unlikely ally when he lest expects it.

I recommend reading this one for fun anytime.

The Forever Girl

The Forever Girl by Rebecca Hamilton

The Forever Girl is the perfect novel to read on a rainy weekend when you are looking for an escape. You will fall in love with the characters in this young adult story of vampires, shape shifters and eternal souls, I did. I also loved the story and the way Rebecca Hamilton gave us a new prospective on vampires, shifters and the Wicca religion - what an imagination.

Sophia, the main character, is not a weakling nor is she easily frightened. I love Sophia because she is a strong protagonist who knows what she wants when she wants it and will not give up until she gets it. And guess what? She has a brain and is not the bumbling type who is constantly making wrong decisions then needing her boyfriend to save her – bravo! Charles, Sophia's boyfriend, is half shape shifter half vampire, yeah I know, what a combination but Hamilton makes it work. Sophia is also a practicing Wicca but she discovers that she is so much more.

Get ready to meet the ultimate stalker chick, a cool vampire with dreadlocks, a sexy power blocker, one dysfunctional family, an over the top cultist neighbor and a host of other powerful supernaturals in this fun, and entertaining story of Sophia's journey of love and discovery. This is a good start of the series and keep your eyes on Rebecca Hamilton because her writing is only going to get better.

Check out the Overview:

A Cult. A Murder. A Curse.

Sophia's family has skeletons, but they aren't in their graves...

At 22, practicing Wiccan Sophia Parsons is scratching out a living waiting tables in her Rocky Mountain hometown, living under the shadow of her bi-polar mother, religious prejudice, and a cold murder. Sophia can imagine lots of ways her life could be better, but she’d settle for just getting rid of the buzzing noise in her head. The spell she casts goes wrong. The static turns into voices. Her personal demons get company...

24:01 One Minute After

24:01 One Minute After by Eric Diehl

Looking for stories about nano technology, magic, disembodied souls, space pirates, and aliens along with the weird and crazy?

Look no further, 24:01 One Minute After by Eric Diehl is a well written anthology of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror short stories that will leave you wanting more. Diehl quickly pulls you into his story worlds then guides you through the lives of his characters then leaves your mind asking the questions "what just happened here" or "I didn't see that coming... I've been mind-freaked!" I have always loved a good mind teaser and found a collection of them right here in this book. I didn't want to abandon any story nor did I want to move ahead to the end. The stories are easy to read can be read in less than an hour which makes them perfect for busy schedules. You should read it, you will not be disappointed.

These stories that Diehl wrote based in our reality and beyond are ready for your enjoyment. Do you feel that pull towards the Twilight Zone? I found myself thinking about some of the stories days after I read them wishing they were a full novel and you may do the same. One of the funniest lines of the week came from his story called "The Roots of Fate" but I will let you read it and guess what that line was and when you do Tweet it to me at @CloeyWorld - get the book, enjoy, and let me know what you think.

Check out the Overview…

Can you imagine what your world might be like, One Minute After? A blurring of reality that transcends rational bounds; where every frame of reference has been turned on its head, and visuals are but fleeting reflections in a hall of mirrors?

Venture, then, if you dare, into this anthology of horror, science fiction and fantasy; some dark and some light, but all a challenge to your imagination. We will begin with an experiment in nano-biotechnology gone very wrong, and, if you do not perish in transit, end in a desperate alternate reality on Olde Aearth; emerging with a glimmer of hope ~ justified or not. In between, in those shadowy alcoves and interstitial chambers throughout, you might experience dragons, wizards, hurricanes, or even misadventures in space.

As a caveat, there can be no assurance as to what anyone will encounter, One Minute After. The journey elicits a different experience for each, and not everyone returns whole, or at all.

That said, all are welcome to transcend this unique dimension of faux reality. It could never, after all, thrive as a shell devoid of fear, and to feed that hunger there must be voyeurs within. And so if you are feeling contradictory, adventurous, or just plain foolhardy, please hasten to cross the threshold into the altered timescape of 24:01. Simply pay no mind to the frantic, leaping shadows within, the basso chortle emanating from the darkness close-by, or the clack of the latch falling shut behind...
